The BRG9804 is intended to link between two Ethernet network cables separate from each other by a certain distance, so they can hardly be connected by a cable. 

The use of the BRG9804 allows to carry out easily the connection between two Ethernet networks located at near sites, different floors or even at near buildings, so users avoid high-cost infrastructure works (trenchs, long wires, etc.). 

The solution provided by the BRG9804 is more efficient than the one based on the use of point-to-point or temporary links through leased lines to a phone company, since it supports higher data rates (up to 60 times faster) without any other cost than the BRG9804 itself.
